Constitution Day September 19 from 12:00pm to 2:00 p.m.

Our collaborative 16th Annual Constitution Day Program and Reception will be Monday, September 19 from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. It will be in-person at the Ceremonial Moot Courtroom of the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law. There is a hybrid option available and when registering please check the appropriate box. Co-sponsors are the law school, the League of Women Voters of Maryland, the University of Maryland, Baltimore, and the MLAW Program, University of Maryland, College Park. The topic will be: The Supreme Court and the Constitution: Recent Cases and Their Implications. Professors Chaz Arnett, Holly Brewer, Peter Danchin, and Leslie Henry are the panelists. The Reception is in the adjacent Atrium.

After registrants sign in, they can browse the display of law faculty recent publications. The pride of the Reception is the large sheet cake decorated atop with the Preamble to the Constitution; this is donated by University of Maryland, Baltimore. Leaguers volunteer to bring cookies, brownies, fruit, veggies, party sandwiches, and cheeses/crackers. The law school provides the beverages.

The event is free but registration is required by noon, Sept. 15. When registering to attend, indicate if you want car space in parking building opposite law school. Car pooling is urged. A driver will receive a ticket upon entering the parking building; pay after the event by inserting ticket in vending machine inside the parking building entrance.

Registration is now Closed.
