    Annapolis – The League of Women Voters of Maryland (LWVMD) turns 100 years old on February 14, 2020, and to celebrate, LWVMD members launched a #FairMapsValentine Campaign online and by delivering a Fair Maps Valentine to every member of the Maryland General Assembly.

    8:30 -10:00 a.m.     Visits to Legislators arranged by Local Leagues
      (Local Leagues are responsible for making those appointments in advance)

    10:00 a.m.      Report on legislative visits

    11:00 a.m.  State budget presentation by Victoria Gruber, E.D., Department of Legislative Services

    Noon Lunch             Panel Discussion featuring our coalition partners

    1:00 p.m.               Optional visits to committee hearings

    *The Lois Stoner Scholarship Fund is available for members who would like assistance with their registration fee. Please contact the LWVMD office for details.

    Our Day On Capitol Hill

    • Visit our US Senators’ and Representatives’ offices
    • Enjoy lunch together in staff dining facility
    • Take part in advocating a LWVUS topic* (voluntary)
    • Have fun!

    *Participants will be briefed by email about the LWVUS topic for advocacy, participating voluntarily.

    • Meet at Taxi/Massachusetts Ave. exit inside Union Station, Washington DC, 10 am.
    • Arrive at Union Station by Amtrak, MARC, Metro, bus or auto. If driving one can park in Union Station’s public parking (assuming space is available.)
