Districts in St. Mary's

St. Mary's County is divided into three different kinds of districts: Legislative, Voting, and County

The three State Legislative Districts (29A, 29B, 29C) are used to elect representatives to the Maryland State Legislature. These three districts are combined to make the state senatorial district 29.
     St. Mary's is also part of US Congressional District 5.

 

Voting Districts
See a list of the polling places in each Voting District.

     The nine Voting Districts are sometimes used to describe where people live, and they're used on election days to assign people to their polling place.
     Voting Districts are often split into precincts. Each precinct is assigned a polling place, usually a school, church hall, or firehouse.

    The four County Districts are used in electing County Commissioners and School Board Members. Several Voting Districts are combined to make one County District. Each County District has six to eight precincts in it.
