Results
On Election Day, 383, 879 voters of a record number of
557,673 registered voters turned out to vote, for a 68.84% turnout.
The unofficial results are reported on the
County Board of Elections website for all the races and ballot
questions. The results for the races that include more than Montgomery
County (congress, judges and the state ballot questions), the complete
results are available on
the Maryland Board of Elections website.
The absentee ballot canvass began Thursday, the 6th and the provisional ballot canvass will begin on Monday, the 10th. Over 49,000 returned absentee and provisional ballots will be verified and those cast by eligible voters will be counted, with updates listed on the County website.
The officially certified county election results must be reported to the Maryland Board of Elections by Friday, Nov. 21. We need to wait a little while longer to verify our final turn-out and totals. The absentee and provisional results may affect the District 2 Board of Education race (Berthiaume vs. Abrams) and ballot question B on overriding the property tax limit.
