Chairman Ball and Members of the County Council:

The League of Women Voters of Howard County supports Resolution 117-2007, which adds 57 buildings to the County Historic Sites Inventory, last updated in 2004. The Resolution also proposes 4 criteria for including historic sites on the County Historic Sites Inventory.

The League supports the criteria, but suggests that not all 4 have to be met in order to have a building or structure be included on the Historic Sites Inventory. We therefore ask for an amendment to the Resolution that would insert the word "or " on line 20 and line 22 of page 2.

The League support for this Resolution is based on our Land Use, Planning and Zoning: Natural Resources position to preserve historic sites including a periodical updated comprehensive inventory of historically significant sites. We urge your consideration of our amendment and support for Resolution 117. Thank you for this opportunity to share our views.
