The League of Women Voters can be your most dependable, non-partisan source for citizen
and voter services and information. The following information is just a sample of what
we can and do provide to your community. The following are just a few of our services.


VOTER SERVICES

	* Independently or with other partnering organizations, we educate citizens about candidates and issues
     through forums, debates, candidate nights, printed Voter's Guides and a new online Voters Guide
     
*  Independently or with partnering organizations, we conduct or direct Voter Registration Drives
	
	* Upon request, we serve as Poll Watchers and are available to moderate community debates and forums on issues
facing the county or a specific community. * We can be contacted for various election information CITIZEN EDUCATION *Annual courses are offered in Annapolis to prepare citizens to be informed advocates in the Maryland General Assembly. *A variety of publications are produced regularly that are free or available for a small fee. A "Know Your County" handbook is published with all the information you will need to understand and reach various Baltimore County offices. Call the office at 410-464-1902 for your copy. A "Your Government Officials" is a printed brochure which lists all of your currently elected officials and contact information for them. These are revised after each election. A "Maryland Elected Officials" is a printed brochure which lists all of your currently elected officials serving at the state level. These, too, are revised after each election. A Monthly Newsetter is produced with much information on League activities, committee reports, etc. on local current which is available by subscription. *Other fact sheets and publications are frequently produced after we conduct studies on issues and plan to take positions on those issues. Call the office for information for any fact sheets currently available in print. *Numerous other publications are produced at the State and national level. Visit the LWVMD or LWVUS websites for information on what publications are currently available, or call our office. INFORMATION * Promoting public understanding of governmental issues by telephone, attending community or group meetings upon request. * Maintaining knowledge and reporting on local government activities by interviewing legislators observing County Boards and Committees and reporting on them in our monthly newsletters LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT *Providing workshops and experiences to train elected and appointed political leaders upon request. OTHER SERVICES *Ballot counting for organizations such as credit unions, community associations, etc. *Serving as moderator or chair of community meetings where local issues are being discussed or debated.
