The League of Women Voters is a non-partisan, multi-faceted organization that works continuously to educate and inform citizens on issues at all levels of government, performs a variety of community services, but also involves itself in action and advocacy efforts, either in support or opposition of proposed legislation, on which we have positions and which we believe our involvement helps produce good legislation.
This page is one way in which we keep you informed and assist you in taking a more active role in the affairs of your community, your state, and the nation. We encourage you to visit the various links provided below.

The League is now getting ready to follow legislation at all levels of government for the year 2008-2009. Please check this page and the other links above regularly to keep abreast of the ACTION.
The Baltimore County League participates in all of the above action and advocacy issues, but we do more on the local level as well. Our local league also monitors local government hearings and legislative sessions, and the various committees that deal with issues of League interest and community concern. We testify at hearings to make our views known on matters on which we have a position and we frequently hold general meetings about the subjects so that the public can become better informed. You can read short reports about some of the meetings we monitor by linking regularly to our Observer Corps Reports.
