(The following is provided by Maryland Citizens Against State Executions (MD CASE), the coalition of which LWVMD has been a member since we achieved consensus on repeal, and the subsequent adoption of repeal by LWVUS.) Wednesday, November 14, 7 p.m. Race to Execution is a provocative and haunting portrait of two death row inmates – Robert Tarver of Russell County, Alabama, and Madison Hobley of Chicago –which exposes how race infects American’s criminal justice system. Prince Geore’s Community College, Largo Student Center-Rennie Forum, 301 Largo Road, Largo. Guest speakers and panelists: Dr. Charlene Dukes, president of Prince George’s Community College; Dr. Johnnie Jones, Esq., professor in the Legal Studies Program, Prince George’s Community College; Carl Snowden Esq., Director of Civil Rights for the Office of Maryland’s Attorney General; Shujaa Graham, exoneree from California’s death row; Christine Intagliata, writer, Race to Execution.
