LWV Baltimore County to host Azerbaijani

For the third time in recent years the Baltimore County League will host guests from a former Soviet Republic, this time from Azerbaijan. Arrangements for this hosting, however, are being made through LWVUS, which is serving as a conduit for the Library of Congress Open World program. The 2008 program will, moreover, serve as a fund raiser for both LWVUS and the Baltimore County League The delegation of four, plus a facilitator/interpreter, will be here from April 11-19. The theme of this year’s program will be “Accountable Governance,” with an aim of exposing Azeri leaders to U.S. democracy at the local level. Becky and Ralph Rigger are coordinating the committee which will be organizing the home stays and the eight days of programming.
