REVENUES
A serious effort will be made to repeal the sales tax on computer services passed during the special session in November. Three bills have already been filed to repeal some or all of the provisions of the computer services tax. . They are SB 41 (Harris, et al), SB 46 (Forehand) and SB138 (Brinkley et al) – Sales and Use Tax – Computer Services. If any of these bill pass, the Legislature will be faced with either finding $200 million in new revenues or $200 million in budget reductions. The tax is currently supposed to go into effect on July 1 of this year.
