- What electronics can be used in the polling place?
- No cell phone, pagers, cameras or computers may be used by voters in the polling place.
- Do I have to vote in the Primary Election to vote in the General Election?
- No. You do NOT have to have voted in the Primary to vote in the General Election.
- Can I wear a campaign button or Tshirt when I vote?
- A voter may wear campaign paraphernalia (buttons, t-shirts, or
stickers) into the polling place while he or she is there to vote (the
voter may not linger in the polling place after voting). However, an
election judge, challenger and watcher, or other person stationed
inside the polling place or within 100 feet of the polling place may
not wear or display campaign materials.
- Can I take off time from work to vote?
Maryland law states that
Employees who do not have two hours before or after work to vote
may take up to two hours of leave to vote. Employers may specify
the time during the day that leave can be taken. Employees are
entitled to paid leave but are required to provide employers
with proof of voting.
Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., so if you have to work earlier
than 9 a.m. and later than 6 p.m. then you may request 2 hours during
the day to go vote.
You may also vote by absentee ballot.
- Can I take my childen to the polls with me?
- Up to two children, 13 or under, may accompany a voter into the voting
booth. Older children may be with you in line, but must stay back from
the booths.
