The League of Women Voters of Maryland is a co-sponsor of the Women’s Legislative Briefing, an annual event that will be held on Sunday, January 27. This event, which is free and open to the public, will be held at the National 4-H Conference Center, 7100 Connecticut Avenue in Chevy Chase from 12:30 pm – 5 pm.
The briefing provides an opportunity to learn about important legislative issues affecting women and families to be considered during the legislative session of the Maryland General Assembly and the U.S. Congress. It concludes with a reception providing guests with the opportunity to meet elected officials and advocates and representatives from other women’s organizations.
This year’s keynote speaker is Irene Natividad, president of the Global Summit of Women. Workshops at the event will focus on legislation related to: Women and the Economy, Women and Health, Women and Immigration Trafficking, Women and the Law and Women and Politics.
