Executive Power and Human Rights: Torture, Secrecy and the Rule of Law

"Executive Power and Human Rights: Torture, Secrecy and the Rule of Law," will be explored at an event co-sponsored by the Maryland Chapter which supports the United Nations and the Baltimore County League of Women Voters, Saturday, December 8, 2-4 p.m. in Merrick Hall, Goucher College, Dulaney Valley Road, Towson. Panelists include: Dr. Matthew Crenson, Johns Hopkins Professor of Politcal Science and co-author of Presidential Power: Unchecked and Unbalanced; New York Times reporter Scott Shane, Curtis Cooper, president of the Maryland Chapter of the National Lawyers Guild; and Susan Burke, a lawyer involved in human rights and secrecy cases. The event is free and open to the public.
